Well, in this article, I am going to discuss several methods to help you get rid of the Android not receiving or sending texts error. So, let's get straight to the point.
Reboot your Android device
A simple reboot can fix various issues with your Android device. Plus, it sort of updates your phone's network. So go ahead, restart your Android device and try sending a text and see if it works.
Make sure you have the latest version of the messaging app.
You should also make sure that you have the latest version of the messaging app on your Android device. To confirm this, you need to go to the Google Play Store.
After that, find the Messages app and see if it shows a Refresh button. If so, then the Messages app needs an update.
Just click on the update button to download the latest version and then try sending a message. If you see an “Open” button instead of an update, it means that your Messages app has already been updated.
Make sure the sim card is properly inserted into your android device.
Another thing you should do is make sure you have inserted your SIM card correctly. To do this, you must first turn off your Android phone.
Then just remove the SIM tray and reinsert the SIM card into your Android phone. Then boot up your device and see if you can send or receive text messages or not.
Confirm message as default SMS app
The next thing you need to do is make sure the Messages app is set as the default text messaging app. There are many apps that replace your Messages apps like Facebook Messenger and True caller. So make sure these apps don't conflict with your Messages app.

- Click on Applications and notifications > Default apps.
- Go to Messages and set it as the default app if it isn't already.
After that, try sending a text to someone and see if it goes through or not.
Make sure you have enough credit balance to send/receive messages
You should also check your credit balance and make sure you have enough funds to send or receive messages. Most SIM card operators require an SMS balance to both send and receive texts. So just check your SIM card balance and see if you have the required balance or not.
Disable Airplane Mode on Android Phone
Make sure your phone is not in airplane mode. If this is the case, then you will not be able to send or receive texts or make calls.
So, swipe down from the top of your Android phone to get to the notification bar of your Android device.
Then look for the airplane icon and see if it's enabled. If it's on, click the icon again to turn it off. After that, try sending a text message and see if you run into the same issue again.
if you switched from iPhone to Android, make sure you disable iMessage for your number.
If you've recently switched from an iPhone, make sure you deactivate iMessage for your number.

- Insert the SIM card into iPhone first.

Check if the mobile phone number is correct
Another thing you should do is make sure you have entered the correct phone number. You may have entered the wrong phone number. As a result, your messages are not sent.
Reset your Android phone's APN settings to default
You can also try resetting the APN or access point name to get rid of the error. To do this, you will need to follow the following steps:

- Click on Connections > Mobile network.
- Click on Access point names > More.

Update your Android device to the latest software
